  • Share

A certified nurse midwife, or CNM possesses a philosophy of care that focuses on the specific needs of women, offers a variety of options, and minimizes unnecessary intervention. The CNM is a highly educated professional who has passed a national certifying examination and is licensed to practice midwifery based upon the laws in each state. The CNM practices in a multi-disciplinary health care system that allows for consultation with and referral to specialty care provided by physicians.
